If you would like to perform at the Jazz Piano Luncheons please email Cathy Connor via the contact form (contact tab) and leave a contact phone number if possible . You will then be contacted by phone/messenger.
Performers would need to be able to play a solo set for 20 minutes of improvised jazz and accompany our guest artist on a couple of tunes (could be a vocalist horn or bass) You would plan your repertoire with the guest artist beforehand. Advanced tertiary students are most welcome!
The luncheons have always been and will always be friendly, positive atmosphere of accomplished pianists sharing their love & respect of the great tradition & repertoire of Jazz Piano! You would be performing in a non competitive and convivial encouraging atmosphere to a very appreciative audience!
At times we may include a “Round Robin” playoff . This is a standard jazz tune from the Great American Song Book which the pianists finish the afternoon off with. An atmosphere of convivial competition prevails. The result can be anywhere from sublime to hilarious! Generally we may include this if there is extra time in the afternoon.
All performers are welcome to perform or listen!
